Improving the conservation status of the Balearic Sea is a goal shared by many in our society. It requires a diagnosis of the status and evolution of the Balearic Sea over time, which we are doing in our annual BALEARIC SEA REPORT.
This first edition of the report contains more than a hundred indicators for the marine environment around the Balearic Islands, and analyses the pressures it is under and our responses as a society. It contains a vast amount of information that has previously not been widely accessible. Making this collective intellectual heritage available to the public has been possible thanks to the collaboration of public and private institutions that have been studying and accumulating data about the Balearic Sea for years. Dozens of researchers and technical experts have shared information and selflessly devoted their time to this project.
